Petiteology
Our philosophy
We believe that each child’s artistic potential already exists within them, simply waiting to bloom. As teachers, we act as gentle guides to inspire and cultivate this potential through literature, art history and material explorations, tailoring our lessons to the needs of each emerging artist. Our goal is for each child to feel enlightened by their individual paths of creative discovery.
We take inspiration from various child-centered educational approaches to provide children with the space to make their unique ideas visual. Here, art is not just a subject, but a language through which children communicate their thoughts, feelings, and stories. Above all, we believe that every child is an artist and has a voice that should be heard and celebrated. By providing a calm and welcoming space, our goal is to help children find art inspiration in their own world and to ignite a lifelong love for art. With years of experience in the art world, we strive to inspire young artists and hone their creative potential.
It is our goal to help each child find their unique spark and empower them to shine brightly in all their artistic endeavors. Our variety of classes range from explorative art-making to directed workshops focused on specific techniques, all aimed at leading Petite Artists down a path of inquiry about the world around them.
Petite Atelier
the studio space
Our art studio is meticulously designed to honor the child's innate sense of wonder and curiosity.
Every material is intentionally chosen to promote independence, exploration, and foster creativity. In this carefully curated environment, children are empowered to engage with their surroundings, develop artistic abilities, and foster a deep appreciation for beauty and order.
At the deepest level, children working in these kinds of environments are building a wordless sense that the world as a whole is beautiful and intelligible, that they are capable of understanding and navigating it, and that their effort to learn and achieve things is worthwhile. It's the foundation for optimism, a positive work ethic, and self-esteem.
Petite Art Studio recognizes the profound impact of the environment on a child's development and instills in them a lifelong love of art.
